Dr. Kolawole Asimiyu Fasakin is a distinguished Nigerian haematologist and medical laboratory scientist with nearly two decades of expertise in haematology and blood transfusion. He is affiliated with the Federal Teaching Hospital in Ido-Ekiti and holds academic positions at Afe Babalola University and ELIZADE University. Dr. Fasakin's educational journey includes a Ph.D. from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, advanced studies at the University of Washington, and ongoing postgraduate work at the University of Texas, Austin. A three-time Global Health Grant Award winner from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, he has attended Keystone Symposia on HIV Vaccines and Eradication/Cure in the U.S. and Canada. He is a Foundation Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science and a member of numerous learned societies, including MLSCN, AMLSN, HBTSSN, ISBT, IFBMLS, and Global Health Trials.
